Bespoke Grades

In additional to normal Joinery qualities we are able to offer first to third graded Unsorted Redwood, 3 and 4 sides Knotless Sideboards and Halvrena Schaalboards. Most of these are suitable for small mouldings requiring an almost clear face.  At the other end of the quality scale we supply Export Schaals destined for use in the Pallet & Packing case industries.  A number of our specialist sawmills produce Finger Jointed material in a variety of qualities.  This is becoming increasingly popular in Joinery applications such as the manufacture of windows and Portable buildings where specific lengths and straightness are key elements.

For large volume orders and long-term supply most of our primary producer sawmills can grade timber to a customers particular requirements.  Such bespoke grades may be designed to exclude specific defects, or to include an element of normal grades (for example “top 5th and Unsorted” or “5th and best square-edged 6th grade”).
