Operational expertise
We have our own dedicated terminal facility in the port of Hull adjacent to our northern regional sales office. Cargoes from Scandinavia and Russia are discharged there and transferred to under cover storage in one of the largest timber sheds in the Hull port complex. This is managed and run by our own staff, and has recently been extended to over 4 acres of covered storage.
We hold an extensive stock in every standard size and grade, and operate a pick-a-pack service so those customers may order a load made up to their specific requirements. In most cases we can deliver anywhere in the UK within 48 hours, both full and part loads.
Compass has embraced the best modern developments, and we have a state of the art computer stock control system for our timber supply chain from the moment goods leave the sawmill until they are delivered to our customers.
